 Test Results
The day’s post both paper and electronic will usually have been processed by mid afternoon.  If you wish to enquire about a result or report please telephone after 3.00pm

Extended Hours

We offer evening GP appointments from 6.30pm alternate Tuesday at Allendale & alternate Thursday at Haydon Bridge. These appointments are pre-bookable only.

DISPENSARY NEWS

Repeat prescriptions and drug enquiries are handled by our dispensary staff. Please contact them direct on 01434 688351. This line is on answer phone until 10.00am and again over the lunchtime period, 12 noon until 2.00pm. You may leave a message during these times. Please note that the dispensary is closed between 12 noon and 1.15pm and reception staff are unable to hand out prescriptions during this time.

Practice responsibilities to you

 

  • Enable registration with the practice and offer a choice of doctor
  • Offer a health check on joining the practice
  • Provide emergency care, and appropriate medication and treatment during normal opening hours
  • Refer for specialist opinion where appropriate, and to be referred for a second opinion if you and the GP agree this is desirable
  • Have the right to view your medical records, subject to current legislation, and to know that all staff working for the NHS have a duty to keep the contents confidential
  • Allow choice regarding taking part in medical research or medical training
  • Give a full and prompt reply to any complaints about the service provided by the practice
  • Treat you with dignity and respect

 

Patient responsibilities to the Practice

 

  • To attend appointments at the arranged time. If you are unable to attend an appointment you should cancel the appointment as soon as possible.
  • To understand that appointments are generally for one problem
  • To take responsibility for their own health, and the health of their children, and engage with the practice to help us keep them healthy
  • To understand that home visits should only be requested for patients who are seriously ill or housebound
  • Many problems can be resolved by advice alone, therefore patients should not always expect a prescription
  • Treat all staff with dignity and respect
