Our new online booking system is now up and running, please contact us to receive new log-ins to enable you to book an appointment or order repeat prescriptions online.

Practice Merger

30 August 2013

Dear Patient

Proposed Merger – Allendale Medical practice & Haydon & Allen Valleys Medical Group

I am writing to advise you that we are planning a merger of Allendale & Haydon Bridge GP practices, and we would like to hear your views on the proposed merger.

We strongly believe in, and are committed to, maintaining local provision of high quality General practice in our rural communities. However, both practices are currently under significant financial threat and believe the best way to maintain a service to our rural population is through a closer working arrangement.  Discussions have concluded that the best way to achieve this is through a formal merger.

The practices are based at Allendale Health Centre and Haydon Bridge Health Centre, and both of these locations will remain the same after the merger.  Both practices share the same values and work ethic to ensure patient satisfaction and to provide excellent customer service.  We wish to assure our patients that there will not be a reduction in services provided.

The proposed formal merger will take place in April 2014 and a question and answer sheet is attached which may answer any queries that you may have.

We welcome any comments or feedback that you have about this merger and attach a feedback sheet for your convenience.  These can be posted back or handed in at either of the practice reception desks.  These forms should be returned to us no later than 30 September 2013.

In addition, we will be holding two public meetings where patients will be welcome to attend and ask questions from the GP Partners.  These meetings will be held:

Allendale Village Hall, Tuesday 17th September 7pm

Haydon Bridge Community Centre, Tuesday 24th September 7pm

Any queries or questions can be made in writing or by email to:
